How Mummy found Friends
Mummy Mae was on loan to a traveling museum exhibit when the truck hit a pothole on Wisconsin Street. Her crate popped open. She was free for the first time in five thousand years.
She shuffled toward the nearest warm light — the café — trailing bandages the whole way. The team found her at a corner table, staring longingly at a white chocolate mocha.
They made her one. Then they topped it with vanilla cold foam (it reminded her of her wrappings) and a chocolate-covered Oreo (it reminded her of nothing; she just thought it was delicious).
She never went back to the museum. The staff voted her drink their favorite, and she's been quietly unraveling with joy ever since. If you find a stray bandage on the floor, please return it to her.
